Nestled in the heart of western Colorado’s stunning mountains, Colorado Rocky Mountain School (CRMS) offers a transformative educational experience for students in grades 9-12. As a college-preparatory boarding and day school, CRMS blends rigorous academics with experiential learning and community engagement, providing students with a balanced and comprehensive education. Students at CRMS are encouraged to challenge their intellect, explore their creativity, and develop essential life skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.

CRMS offers an array of specialty programs designed to enhance student growth and discovery. CRMS’s extensive Outdoor Education Program includes a 10-day Wilderness Orientation and annual week-long Fall and Spring Trips in the Colorado and Utah wilderness, including opportunities like kayaking and rock climbing, to mountain biking, fly-fishing, and horse-packing. A two-week Interim Program each February allows students to travel internationally and domestically or engage in unique on-campus experiences. The Active Program offers mountain sports such as mountain biking, extensive snow sports (alpine, telemark, freeride, Nordic, backcountry, ski mountaineering, snowboarding), as well as climbing, soccer, and more. CRMS also offers a diverse arts program featuring disciplines like Glassblowing, Silversmithing, Blacksmithing, Ceramics, Videography & Animation, Painting & Drawing, Photography, Rock Band, and Songwriting. Finally, CRMS’s service program remains a cornerstone of its philosophy, with students participating in service crews twice a week to contribute meaningfully to the school community.
