Foxcroft School
About:

Founded in 1914 by Charlotte Haxall Noland, Foxcroft School is a college-preparatory boarding and day school for girls in grades 9-12. Foxcroft’s mission is to help every girl explore her unique voice and to develop the skills, confidence, and courage to share it with the world. We make four key promises to every girl and family:

  1. Unique learning experiences in and out of the classroom,
  2. An uncommonly beautiful setting in which to learn, grow, and thrive,
  3. A residential community of understanding hearts, and
  4. A lifetime of friendships and global connections.

We fulfill those promises through a philosophy of focus on how girls learn best, ensuring that each girl is known and valued, cultivating a healthy mind in a healthy body, and making everything we do curriculum.

Our values are: Respect, Integrity, Kindness, and Service.

Specialty Program(s):
  • Developing an exceptional talent takes concentrated focus, discipline, and time — lots and lots of time — and Foxcroft’s Exceptional Proficiency (EP) program allows students the flexibility and support to do just that. Foxcroft’s EP program enables students to pursue a special talent by training, competing, or performing away from school on a regular and/or long-term basis. The program is mostly used by equestrians in the winter, but other EP participants have included or currently include a world-class sport climber, a nationally-ranked motorcycle racer, a race car driver, figure skaters, downhill skiers, a rower, a swimmer, a lacrosse player, a doula, an Emergency Medical Technician, a ballet dancer, pianists, a violinist, a bass guitarist, a singer pursuing musical theater, and a singer enrolled in Juilliard’s Pre-college Program.
  • Foxcroft’s Academic Concentrations program allows a student to focus her studies at our school in one of several specific areas, above and beyond the requirements for graduation, and to learn outside of the traditional classroom experience. Each student may explore the various opportunities that comprise the overall program, even if she is not pursuing the diploma designation. Those opportunities include individual classes, internships, community service, and in some cases, independent research/culminating presentations. Current programs include Animal Science (with equine studies), Global Studies, STEM, and the Arts with in-depth course work, internships, and a capstone project in a specific discipline.
  • Foxcroft’s Riding program is tailored to meet each girl's needs, whether you are a first-time rider or an experienced horsewoman. Training occurs in the disciplines of Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation, and Foxhunting with mounted lessons for beginner, novice, intermediate, and advanced riders. Emphasis is placed upon principles of Hunter Seat Equitation with a comprehensive, well-rounded study of horsemanship. Staff include On-site trainers, guest instructors, and clinicians. Scholar-athlete riders have the opportunity to participate in numerous shows, including local like UCHS through specialized experiences in Florida at WEF, WEC, and HITS.
