Western Reserve Academy

Western Reserve Academy
About:

Founded in 1826, Western Reserve Academy is a coed boarding and day school nestled in beautiful Hudson, Ohio, adjacent to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. At Reserve, we know the power of dedicated on-campus faculty, personalized curriculum and experiential learning opportunities. Yet, in learning — and in life — we believe there’s a profound multiplier effect: joy. Our students find joy in their triumphs and challenges, in our meaningful traditions, in practicing wellness and balance, and, most importantly, in their journey through Reserve.

Though it's not in our Midwestern nature to boast, we have a lot to tout! Architectural Digest named us the most beautiful private school in Ohio; Niche has ranked us the #1 high school for STEM, the most diverse private high school in Ohio and the best private high school in our state; The New York Times once paid us a visit; and we are on the heels of a once-in-a-lifetime milestone, our Bicentennial in 2026.

Everything we do is rooted in our guiding principle of Lux et Veritas, or “light and truth.” The pursuit of these ideals is as much a part of our students' paths as our storied Brick Row, and it inspires and emboldens Pioneers to dream and think big and know that nothing is impossible. They graduate ready and set for the adventures that await them, joining our vast community of incredible alumni who continue to wield a torch of light and truth, making a profound difference in their communities, all while keeping Reserve close in their hearts.
