St. Timothy's School

In everything we do, we believe in empowering young women to live fearless lives. St. Timothy’s School may be best understood by how its students are known: as self- possessed young women of intellectual curiosity, independent mindsets, expansive worldviews, and strong-but-empathetic voices. They’re comfortable with rigor, studying in the widely respected International Baccalaureate (IB) program. They are known and supported here, surrounded by inspiring teachers who understand their individual talents and learning styles (no class is larger than 16) as well as fellow girls who encourage them as they try new adventures— whether a research project, a new art form, or a different sport.

Their classes meet around seminar tables, in cutting-edge science and innovation labs, or in the magnificent new Five Arts and Student Center. But their studies also take them out beyond the classroom—to behind-the scenes visits to the world’s great cultural institutions, policy centers, and historic sites. Such experiences are built into Winterim, a signature program that adds a hands-on learning experiences to IB studies. Through a student life curriculum centered in health and wellness programming and activities, our girls come to understand the importance of making healthy choices.

Their shared experiences in athletic competition, in a vibrant performing and visual arts scene, in the dorms, and all around this 145-acre campus (that Architectural Digest names one of the country’s most beautiful) strengthens the bonds of sisterhood that form here, last a lifetime, and ultimately spread out across the world. Having lived and learned in this culture of curiosity and self-discovery, St. Timothy’s girls are comfortable and confident in the world and fearless in their pursuit of knowledge— independent-minded problem solvers who are highly valued by the nation’s finest and most interesting colleges and universities.
