Stoneleigh-Burnham School
Founded in 1869, our girls school serves 130 boarding and day students from across the country and around the world in grades 7-12. Three guideposts define our Stoneleigh-Burnham Students. They are multi-dimensional learners, aspirational leaders and committed community members.
At SBS, diversity, equity and inclusion are not merely words. We do this work every day with intention. We challenge every learner to find and develop their voice, become their best self, and graduate with the confidence and empowerment to continue on the journey of their choosing.
Four signature programs separate us from other independent schools. 1. We are the first and now the only New England girls school to offer the International Baccalaureate diploma programme. 2. Our world-class Debate and Public Speaking Society consistently sends students to the world competition. 3. We admitted our inaugural cohort to our new one-year voice and empowerment certificate program exclusively for 10th graders, called VOICE 10, and we believe it to be the only one like it in the country. 4. Our equestrian program is available from novice to the most experienced riders, and we are the only secondary school in the United States to offer the British Horse Society certification. We regularly send students to national competition.
