Stoneleigh-Burnham School

Founded in 1869, Stoneleigh-Burnham School (SBS) is a boarding and day school for girls in Grades 7 - 12 and Postgraduate (PG). Nestled in the Connecticut River Valley of Western Massachusetts, SBS educates students from across the country and around the world on our beautiful 100-acre campus. Located 58 miles from Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut and 97 miles from Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts, SBS is geographically situated nearby the Five College Consortium— a higher education non-profit fostering a vibrant intellectual community that includes Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. SBS students have access to collaborative academic programs, enterprise initiatives, and community engagement.

SBS’s Learning Center supports all academic disciplines designed to ensure that each student receives personalized support for their individual learning profile. Boarding begins in Grade 7 and international students are welcome to enroll in Middle School (Grade 7 & 8). Additionally, students are welcome to enroll throughout the year due to our flexible enrollment program. We encourage you to visit sbschool.org/admissions to learn more.

SBS is the first and only girls’ school in New England to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.

Inspiring students to pursue meaningful lives based on honor, respect, and intellectual curiosity, SBS provides opportunities for a well-rounded educational experience. These include, but are not limited to, artistic endeavors in both the visual and performing arts, competitive and recreational athletic pursuits, dynamic clubs and dedicated student affinity groups, a world-class Debate & Public Speaking Society, and an internationally recognized equestrian program.
